RELEASES & CHANGELOG

Every release,
on the record.

Dates below are taken from the git tag timeline — the day each version was actually cut. Installed copies auto-update from the update feed; everyone else can grab any installer directly.

  1. v0.8.2

    Latest

A quality release covering the 58 commits since 0.8.0 — no new subsystems; the tree gets hardened end to end. The full UI/UX audit lands across desktop and mobile (dialogs, confirms, focus, contrast, touch targets), the chat run loop becomes cancellable and bounded (stale-turn teardown, a 138K output limit, honest loop guards), strict reasoning-echo gateways stop bricking sessions, automations gain a real tool loop and stand down while the GUI is open, boot gets faster and lands on a chat, and the Sprite Studio pixel pets join the bots as companions. Alongside: a desktop approval surface for phone-added project roots, the tool registry consolidated 84 → 74 tools with a hard 120-tool wire cap, real per-kind previews in the Artifacts library, and the website rebuilt as Six Panes with a complete feature tour.

  2. v0.8.0

A feature release covering the work since 0.7.0 — Relay grows persistent identities: Bots (named agents with persona, memory, a pet, standing jobs and a real thread), /sidechat (a private sub-thread seeded with the current chat), and idle compaction (long-stale threads fold themselves in the background). The model can now put real UI on screen through visualize cards and render_widget mini-apps, the composer predicts your next message and recalls earlier prompts, and the phone reaches desktop parity with queued sends, undo checkpoints, diff sheets and read-aloud. Alongside: per-model context windows, two explicit OpenAI API kinds, usage/limit metering across every provider and harness, a rebuilt Pulls panel, a redesigned browser URL bar, a shared shell-glass recipe, and the full remediation of the 2026-10-20 desktop/Rust/mobile audit.

  3. v0.7.0

The computer-use release. The agent now drives the browser pane and Relay's own interface, reusable roles become a Subagents registry it can read and write, every project grows a wiki whose freshness is computed from git, answers speak as they stream (hands-free, with barge-in), local models get a request log and a loopback gateway, and the phone reaches desktop parity on an overhauled relay — alongside fork-to-panes, browser full screen, a skills gallery, a live MCP registry, Qwen-Image Turbo, an embedding-model picker, and the 2026-10-03 audit remediation.

  4. v0.6.0

The knowledge release. Vault — a markdown knowledge base the model genuinely works in — plus local image generation (sd.cpp, no cloud), automation triggers beyond cron (webhook, watched file, git HEAD, Gmail), user hooks around every tool call, hybrid knowledge search, a live harness model catalog, auto-refreshed pricing with a cache-savings hero, and a ~20% token-overhead diet per turn.

  5. v0.5.0

345 commits of relief from single-chat amnesia: six panes in one window, Session Mesh (agents see and message each other), persistent memory, self-improving artifacts, plan-first document design, in-process read-aloud, browser agent v2, a notification center, auto model routing, a first-run wizard, three new harnesses (Pi, Omp, CommandCode), and the Conduit→Relay rename completed under the hood.

  6. v0.4.2

The glass-and-documents release — and the one where Conduit became Relay on every screen. Full-fidelity document pipeline (PDF via Paged.js, DOCX, PPTX with in-app viewers), parallel subagents with tools, a CDP browser layer, queued-message notches, split chat view, a git file viewer with inline diffs, mobile remote access with E2E encryption + QR pairing, the MCP server gallery, per-turn RAG, and the liquid-glass UI across the app.

  7. v0.4.1

Unified single-mode interface with nested project chats, plan detection & preview, a model market redesign, an automations redesign, grouped settings navigation, and faster streaming (rAF-batched tokens, channel-routed PTY output).

  8. v0.4.0

Chat from your phone — session-scoped mobile chat over the relay WebSocket — plus the Windows CI release pipeline that builds and ships every version since.

  9. v0.3.2

    TypeScript build fixes.

  10. v0.3.1

Updater embedded pubkey corrected to match the signing keypair.

  11. v0.3.0

Documentation alignment: AI_CONTEXT.md and CONTRACT.md match the implementation.

  12. v0.2.0

The first public build: artifact system with 30-day retention, vector SVG diagrams, a styled docx/pptx/pdf toolkit, agentic browser tools, vision uploads, and the OpenRouter provider.

  13. v0.1.x

    2026-07-21 → 2026-07-23

Pre-release development: the initial desktop shell — Tauri, multi-pane PTY, browser panes, chat, git sidebar, local models, automations, cost dashboard. No public build was cut.

Versions before 0.4.2 shipped under the original product name, Conduit — same app, earlier name. Installer checksums and the signed update feed live on each release page.
